Holmewood Nursing Home, Sheffield

Bolsterstone have been involved in a number of care developments working successfully with operators. In this instance, following discussions with the Local Health Authority, a need had been identified for the provision of a care home for residential occupation by patients suffering from illnesses such as Alzheimer’s. This provision was specifically required to the south of Sheffield City centre, which is an area which is already densely developed, and where property is relatively expensive.

Bolsterstone carried out an extensive site search and subsequently identified a property, which was formerly used by Sheffield Parks Department, and was currently surplus to requirements. Bolsterstone then negotiated a purchase of the site from Sheffield City Council and in parallel with this, agreed a development agreement with St Andrew’s Care Homes for the operation of the completed facility.

Bolsterstone then procured the building contract, and project managed the scheme through to completion, and registration of the home by the Local Health Authority. The premises now offer good quality purpose built accommodation to 40 elderly residents, situated in an attractive part of the city.
