This site, which was formally the home of a builder’s merchants, is situated on the Sheffield outer ring road, directly opposite Sheffield Arena, an internationally recognised concerts/sports venue. Bolsterstone were tasked with creating value from this disused site, whilst creating buildings of high quality as befits this important location, which is situated on a prominent corner at a gateway to Sheffield. Following appointment by the client, Bolsterstone prepared the design brief, engaged the professional team, and subsequently obtained planning consent for the proposed scheme, on behalf of the client. The content of the scheme, which was negotiated and agreed with Sheffield City Council, was a development incorporating 2 Office units, and a ‘Drive-thru’ fast food restaurant
Bolsterstone were then appointed to Project manage the scheme through to completion, and co-ordinated the tender process, negotiated the appointment of the main contractor and managed the scheme through to completion.Bolsterstone then managed the letting of the speculatively developed Grade A office accommodation to Yorkshire Bank Plc, DDAT and the Local Careers Service. In addition, Bolsterstone negotiated a pre-let of the fast food restaurant to KFC. The project, which was managed from concept through to completion by Bolsterstone, was retained as an investment by the client.
